明白－－不單指在知識上邏輯上。有一天，未來電腦的邏輯推理能力應該和人的差不多。如果單從邏輯角度去理解信仰，便與由一台電腦去理解信仰沒有甚麼分別。人憑自己的五感和思維去了解宇宙，很好。可是這五感和思維能理解的也有限。正如我們已知道人的數學已被證明不能解答所有數學問題。人正如Turing Machine一樣是個finite being，有無限的東西不能完成。人的有限性在信仰上其中一個應用，便是要容許有道理是人永不能憑眼耳口鼻觸感邏輯完全了解的。若有這道理，人便唯有靠這道理的主宰啟示出來。

重生得救的基督信仰者，有一個共通點，便是藉著基督獨一的愛和復活為生活及歷史上有力的啟示，認知自身的有限性的同時，得機會遂步突破邏輯思維觸感鼻口耳眼之限，看見及認同造物主創造之美麗和在各人身上的意義。

基督信仰又有一特點，就是在自以為有智慧的人面前被看為愚拙。（相反亦然。）就算是信徒而言，對基督信仰的整個大計劃也未能完全明白過來，因為正如新約上說，現在就像照鏡子而矣。列舉經文片段的章節作為問題的目的應是為了更明白聖經整體的敎導。若憑單獨或片段的章節宣告聖經是導人向惡的話，不要去迪士尼怕有人不排隊把你敎壞，更不用看電視、報章、雜誌。如果有人濫用聖經章節作個人利益，在基督信仰者中也有人出來指正。歷史上也有馬丁路德等人。如果有人單單用聖經的道理敎訓人，自己卻行不出來，此等人在新約聖經的書信上也有提及，並要受罰。

基督信仰者可以活得像鹽和光，但在窄路上大家都有前路要跑。在世上也沒有一個完美的基督徒。耶穌的比喻中卻提過，有不少接觸過福音而結不出果子的人。

真心信基督的人而言，也有過犯的。甚至有過犯連連至不願再白受基督憐憫的，也再一次走回祂身邊，因為他經歷的是莫大的愛。基督的救恩，不只為了飽讀聖經的牧者或神學生，亦為了不懂高深神學的尋常百姓。難道救恩要像科學或金錢一樣由少眾享得呢？基督信仰的真實，是由體會而明白的。明白基督信仰的信望愛，而不單明白經文者，那種生命的盼望和意義，我真的遇見過，亦敎我畢生難忘。

當人詢問起基督敎義時，以愛心和誠實回應，為基督信仰者和非信徒當學習做好的事。單以誠實回應而欠缺愛心的話，不能服眾。單以愛心回應而欠缺誠實的話，也不可信。

至於你對聖經經文如此用心的思考，真是難得的。

遊樂場外

我們這一代的人自出生便一直被社會所高舉的科學精神所餵養。在單面的科學精神生活中，幾乎一切東西，人都要把它放進儀器裡測度，要從數字裡看出一切的因果。最簡單不過的說法，便是人已經失去了對自然和原有規律的尊重與信任。

科學使我們對自然有更多認識，這是十分寶貴的。可是，人對科學的忠心好像成了一場自愚的戲劇。科學時代所生下的主流不能接受一切不能以科學驗證的事。他們不能不把一切先放進機器裡驗一驗。有一件事他們卻完全忘記了：不論是機器，或是人自己，也是有限的存在體。從這科學方法所得的知識受人類的智慧和五感所限制。人所謂的科學是人以自己為本的探索，其權威不能超越人類的本質。如果要相信科學能夠了解一切的奧秘，那還不如說人類擁有最終極的集體智慧。

我想說的是，除非知道自身的限制，否則眼光不能放得更遠。人類的科學，讓我們在多方面得著好處。它也見證著我們如孩子們在遊樂場上一次又一次的探索冒險。

在遊樂場以外，更多更深遠的東西有待你經歷。

決戰前夕

主啊!我驚訝祢的心思。祢不是明明要我到祢破落的殿裡，聽祢所差來的使者的話嗎？回港這一切直至這刻，是否為了祢自己向我說的這番話？這好些年裡那些打從心底的感動，也不能與此刻祢明明的話相比。從來也沒有一場講道，無論如何叫我專心，能像祢自己的話這般震撼我的靈魂。我如何克制也止不了顫抖。這顫抖是從心底發出的，沒有他人看見，但在祢的眼前沒有能隠藏的。前兩天所聽的巴蘭又在腦內浮現。而今天祢的通碟來了。

BBC News talked today about the national authem of Spain that has no words. It was written long ago. Spanish people demand words for the anthem just like those of other nations.

Not without similarity, the Bible was written long ago. Christians look into all sort of contemporary ideas to apply the ancient text to the nowsdays world. They happily employ Enneagram of Personality as a guide to discover spiritual gifts and to set the course of evangelical missions.

Some of us are eager to explore new ways to identify ourselves and our belief in this era. We take the Good News with us into our washrooms, bedrooms, meal breaks and fellowship. When we bring the gospel to shopping malls, threatres, high tea rooms, and European trips, are we there to bring God's Love to the shoppers, the Way of Life to the ears of the threatre attendants, the Everlasting Hope to the fair ladies, and the Only Salvation to the foreign place? Do we bring the gospel with us and happily expose ourselves to our full desire of style and taste? If there are no nice apartments, exciting movies, delicious gourmet, eye-opening trips, and stylish pants and shoes to go with the gospel, are we still bringing our Bible with us to those places?

The marble buildings still stand near Damascus after a couple of milleniums. Aren't they magificant? Don't we all want nice (not necessarily huge) houses or apartments? Don't we want only quality goods and food? "Second grade merchandises are such disgrace."--is that what you think? Some tell us, "it's okay. We'll find new ways to get more resources. Everyone will be happy." "Isn't there always someone who's going to take things from us if we don't act to take our share first?" you tell yourself.

Our wellbeings have been much improved over the last couple of hundread years. We live like kings and queens in the old days' standard. Let's hope the clothes we wear aren't from the hands of the satanic tailors. Let's pray the gospel we believe in stays loving and true and endures the test of time.
